AEW Dynamite Results (12/6/23): Adam Copeland vs. Christian Cage, Continental Classic Matches

All Elite Wrestling presented a star-studded episode of AEW Dynamite on December 6.

Christian Cage defended the TNT Championship against Adam Copeland. Plus, Toni Storm will defended AEW Women’s World Championship against Skye Blue.

Elsewhere on the show, the AEW Continental Classic continued with three Gold League matches.

The results are as follows:

Moxley and RUSH trade stiff blows right away. The match spills out of the ring. They brawl in the crowd. They head deep into the arena, and RUSH gains the upper hand. The two stars get back in the ring, and they keep duking it out. RUSH strikes a pose, and Moxley flips him off. They exchange strikes. A powerslam earns Moxley a two-count. Moxley drops RUSH with a cutter. They battle on the apron and head back outside. RUSH throws Moxley into the barricade.

He gets Moxley back in the ring and grounds him. RUSH floors Moxley with a superplex. Moxley dives onto RUSH at ringside. They return to the ring and trade shots. RUSH drills Moxley with an elbow to the face. Moxley and RUSH keep battling. RUSH drops Moxley with a head-butt. Moxley drops RUSH with a lariat and hits the Death Rider for a two-count. He locks in the rear choke, and RUSH passes out.

Renee Paquette welcomes Roderick Strong and The Kingdom (Mike Bennett and Matt Taven) to the stage. Strong says it’s obvious that MJF will betray Samoa Joe. He says that actions have consequences, and Joe will learn that tonight. Strong makes it clear that every decision has a consequence, and he points to himself as an example. He says he will live with the consequences of his decisions, but he gets out of the chair. Strong refuses to be held back by the wheelchair, which gets thrown off the stage. He says it has held him back far too long.

Renee Paquette runs into Hangman Page, who says he could not fly for a few weeks. He says Swerve Strickland broke into his home. MJF interrupted and made a joke about the Texas Death Match. Tensions continue to rise, as Page looks back on the last time they faced off years ago. MJF brags about beating Page for the Dynamite Diamond Ring.

MJF notes that his world title reign has been longer than Page’s. Hangman says MJF will be proud of that when he’s 70 and alone. MJF fires back by saying he thinks Page is The Devil. Page accuses MJF of being The Devil. Samoa Joe interrupts and tells MJF to focus on their match.

Strickland and Briscoe feel each other out early on. They’re evenly matched in the opening minutes. Briscoe gains the advantage and drops Swerve with a Russian Legsweep. Swerve hits a diving uppercut and takes control. They battle on the apron. Mark slams Swerve into the barricade. Strickland dumps Briscoe into the crowd. Swerve suplexes Briscoe onto the floor. Back in the ring, Swerve grounds Briscoe. Mark rallies. He drills Swerve with a running boot and hits a Fisherman-buster for a two-count.

Strickland nails Briscoe with a kick. Mark knocks Briscoe to the outside and dives onto him. Briscoe gets a two-count with a lariat. Strickland counters the Jay-Driller and rocks Mark with the House Call. Mark counters the 450 Splash and gets a two-count with an inside cradle. Briscoe slams Swerve, but Strickland blocks the Froggy Bow. Swerve hits a Death Valley Driver onto the apron. He hits the Swerve Stomp for the win.

In an interview, Mariah May says her AEW in-ring debut is coming, but she doesn’t provide any details other than saying they wanted to make it as big as possible.

Samoa Joe comes to the ring. The Devil’s Masked Men surround the ring, and the lights go out. They come back on, and Joe is by himself. The Devil appears on the screen, and MJF is shown laid out backstage.

Backstage, Jon Moxley says he expected to be 3-0, and he expects to win the AEW Continental Classic. Swerve Strickland interrupts and says he will do whatever it takes to win.

TCM’s Ben Mankiewicz introduced Toni Storm.

Toni Storm and Skye Blue feel each other out early on. Storm takes control. Lutha helps Storm slam Blue off the apron. Storm slams Blue onto the broadcast table and hits a hip attack in the corner. The champion maintains the advantage. Blue rallies with a hip attack and blasts Storm with another one. Blue hits the Code Blue for a near fall. Storm drops Blue with a superplex. Storm hits the hip attack. She counters a pin and stacks Blue up for the win.

Riho returns by interrupting Toni Storm’s celebration. She takes the fight to the champion, and Lutha gets Storm out of the ring.

The broadcast team announces that AEW will return to Canada with another tour in 2024.

Lethal and White lock up and feel each other out. White takes control and grounds Lethal. He controls the action and targets Lethal’s leg. Lethal rallies. Lethal catches White with the Lethal Injection. He dives onto White at ringside. Back in the ring, Lethal slams White and hits an elbow drop for a two-count. White hits a Brainbuster for a two-count. They trade blows. White takes Lethal down with a chop block.

They trade pin attempts, and White pins Lethal for the win.

Copeland and Cage square off, and the challenger takes the champion to the mat. Copeland takes the fight to Cage. They head to the outside, and Copeland slams Cage’s head onto the broadcast table. Back in the ring, Copeland blocks a low blow. The match returns to the outside, and Copeland slams Cage into the barricade. Cage gains the upper hand and controls the action. Copeland bites Cage’s fingers, and both men are down after a Russian Legsweep.

Cage slams Copeland into the steel steps. He gets a two-count with a Frog Splash. Copeland counters a Spear and hits an Impaler DDT for a two-count. Cage trips Copeland up on the ropes. Copeland hits a sit-out powerbomb for a two-count. Copeland blocks the Killswitch and hits the Edge-o-Matic for a two-count. He traps Cage in a crossface. Cage counters a Spear into a Killswitch for a two-count. Copeland evades a Spear. Cage hits the referee below the belt.

Copeland and Cage both go for a Spear, and both men are down. Shayna Wayne, Nick Wayne’s mom, comes down and hits Copeland with the title.

Cage hits the Killswitch. He then stomps on Copeland’s neck on top of the title and pins him.

Cage celebrates as the show ends.
