With the Los Angeles midday sun bearing down, perhaps Helen Hunt's feet were just feeling a little hot.

Or at least, that could be one explanation as to why the 47-year-old actress decided to take off her comfortable looking loafers and walk barefoot along the street.

However, the 47-year-old star didn't seem to feel too much discomfort as she strolled along the Brentwood area of Los Angeles holding her brown shoes last week.

The As Good As It Gets actress wore casual jeans, a white T-shirt and grey sweater as she made her way to the local shops.

She was accompanied by her six-year-old daughter Makena who looked a little bit more comfortable in a pair of green flip flops. 

Makena is Hunt's daughter by her long term boyfriend - writer and director Matthew Carnahan.

Hunt hasn't been seen on the big screen since her 2007 romantic comedy Then She Found Me, which she directed and starred alongside Matthew Broderick and Colin Firth.

She will next appear alongside Liev Schreiber in indie drama Every Day which will be released in the U.S. in January 2011.
