Michael K. Williams May Join Cast Of 'Robocop' Remake
Michael K. Williams is currently in talks to join the cast of the Robocop reboot, according to reports.
The Robocop remake will show Alex Murphy return to duty in a city full of crime while he battle with haunting memories. Murphy is brought back to life as part man and part machine following his deadly injuries.
Williams will likely join the cast, which will see Joel Kinnaman play Murphy in the title role, and Hugh Laurie as the top villian. Robocop’s film cast also includes Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman and Jackie Earle Haley. The star of the former Baltimore series The Wire and Boardwalk Empire will join The Killing’s Joel as his partner.
This will be the reboot of the 1987 Paul Verhoeven version of the movie. Jose Padilha will direct, and Marc Abraham and Eric Newman are producing.
Robocop, slated for a Summer 2013 release date, will be shot starting this September in Toronto.
