Horrible, awful. Poorly written, even more poorly acted. An insult to gay black men.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | September 3, 2021 12:37 PM |
People watched it for Wade and the hot Downlow bruthas on it
by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 3, 2021 4:05 PM |
Barely anyone watched this sad attempt to create a black version of Queer as Folk.

"Noah's" star Darryl Stephens, along with DL Icon Linda Lavin, has been promoted to series regular on "B-Positive."

R4 No one knows who he is. No one cares.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | September 3, 2021 4:39 PM |
Black gay men and black women certainly watched it
by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 3, 2021 5:17 PM |
R6 No. 5 black gay men and 0 black women watched it. Stop trying to make this show that never happened happen.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 3, 2021 5:19 PM |
As usual, r7 is openly ignorant

R8 "Logo hit."
LOL! That's like saying your one-woman show was a hit with the ladies at the bridge club.

Reboot being considered because of cult following

R10 A story planted by the unemployed stars of the original show.

I thought Darryl Stephens was great in the indie gay film "From Zero to I Love You." He plays the lover of Guiding Light's Scott Bailey. They had great chemistry together.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 3, 2021 5:49 PM |
Loved it & still miss it.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 3, 2021 5:54 PM |
Darryl is one of the Janet stans on DL. He’s probably one of these posters in this thread, too.
Offsite Linkby Anonymous | reply 16 | September 3, 2021 5:58 PM |
Rather ridiculous is it not?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 3, 2021 5:59 PM |
Wait, is Darryl the infamous Janbot?

[quote][R4] No one knows who he is. No one cares.
Why would you think people reading a thread ABOUT A SHOW HE STARRED IN wouldn't know who he is?
Stupidest comment of the day.

R21 You're the only one who knows who he is, OP.
Again, stop trying to make this show - and this "actor" - that never happened happen.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | September 3, 2021 7:06 PM |
R23 We know, OP, we know.
It'll have an audience of one - you.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | September 3, 2021 7:18 PM |
r22 I am not the OP. Nor have I ever watched an episode of "Noah's Arc."
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 3, 2021 7:22 PM |
Verificatia of cast sizemeats?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | September 3, 2021 7:31 PM |
r10 the only way a reboot happens is if Tyler Perry co-produces it. That's how the black women will watch.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | September 3, 2021 7:31 PM |
R28 Madea will be brought in as the mother of one of the queens.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | September 3, 2021 7:33 PM |
Darryl Stephens had the worst styling/wardrobe I have ever seen on this show.
Then again, it was femme fantasy before it became mainstream. But I still hated it.
Wade could have fucked me on the low, though. FO SHO.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | September 3, 2021 7:35 PM |
Well... I'm a Black gay male and I enjoyed the show. I even bought the DVDs and watch it ever so often. Yep, it has/had its problems but it was nice to see a show that starred/featured Black actors, who were all gay, and the relationship among them. I miss it.
What saddens me (and it speaks to roles for Black actors--particular Black gay actors) is that none of them really worked after the series ended--even the writer/producer of the show.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | September 3, 2021 7:39 PM |
[quote]That's how the black women will watch.
I recall reading long ago that it wasn't Black women who watched the show. You know how much they hate we Black gays anyway... But, that it was White straight women (even though it was on LOGO) that really watched the show.

I crushed on Darryl and the light skinned fella with the big muscles. Gregory Keith is his name I think. He’s now a screenwriter.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | September 3, 2021 7:48 PM |
R33- Did you see the episode when that psycho whore was trying to steal him from Alex? I liked that show.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 3, 2021 7:51 PM |
It is/was huge in black gay community
by Anonymous | reply 35 | September 3, 2021 7:52 PM |
Is Gregory Keith heterosexual

[quotes]Did you see the episode when that psycho whore was trying to steal him from Alex? I liked that show.
I liked his panties that he was wearing!
by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 3, 2021 7:54 PM |
Gregory Keith was the unsung hero of that show.
And he could pound me until kingdom come.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | September 3, 2021 7:58 PM |
Keith Hamilton Cobb was on for a few episodes, I remembered him from All My Children as Noah. The attack on Noah had me crying my eyes out. I was saying "Yes!" when Wade knocked the hell out of the attacker. I do not remember the show that came on before NA, but that is how I began watching it. I would definitely watch a reboot.

Another one that hardly worked again after appearing inn the show.

I still don't believe he's straight. No ma'am. No suh!

R43, I heard he's divorced now. That marriage didn't even last a year lol.

Attn ladies: Gay alert! Gay alert! Gay alert!

jensen atwood (wade of noah's arc fame)has been talked on the website ad nauseum. Folks are spotting him hugged up with ladies, so that means he's straight :dead:
HE IS GAY. he just ended a 7 month relationship w/ my cousin (who is openly gay).
*steps off soap box*

I did r34. One of my favorite episodes. They did make a movie that closed up some storylines, but I cursed Logo for canceling the series. At the time we had no representation of the GBM community and it seemed so shortsighted. Eventually Logo became a pussy cable network, like gay television for straight people.

I saw the movie finale, Jumping the Broom, in theaters in NYC. It was silly, but Phoebe Snow's cameo/song was cute.. Apparently she got into the original show while dealing with the death of her daughter.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | September 5, 2021 2:44 PM |
R31) Same for Queer as Folk. None of those White actors went on to have any success.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | September 5, 2021 2:50 PM |
R49 that’s because there are all terrible actors. But as gays we are obligated to watch these shows.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | September 5, 2021 3:04 PM |
Does anybody have any idea of what these actors were paid to do these roles? Even a guestimate. I found that the movie had a budget of $5MM but only a box office of $533K. That explains why Patrick-Ian-Polk has never really worked again....
But, what about the actors? It would be very sad to learn that these actors are now stereotyped for a role that they really didn't make any money off of.

[quote]Does anybody have any idea of what these actors were paid to do these roles?
And as an actor, you’re still working. I see you pop up every now and again all over the place in the different shows. But you haven’t had as substantial a role as Noah since then.
[quote]it has been challenging. One of the roles I got, which I’m not going to lie, I’ve been paid the most for in this industry was a non-speaking role that I got on Two and a Half Men. There was a line that got cut, but I ended up being essentially a glorified featured extra. But that show plays so much in the world that I make more money on that show, that non-speaking role, than I probably have elsewhere which is insane to think. That puts everything in perspective for me. If I was one of the main characters on this show that ran for two seasons and a movie and I make more money in a little featured extra role on Two and a Half Men, that tells me a lot. It’s humbling and it’s been a constant recalibration in terms of how I see myself and where I see myself in the industry. But I will say, in the last couple of years, there’s been this moment where I feel like everybody who saw Noah’s Arc is finally getting into those positions where they’re like, “Wait a minute, shouldn’t he be working?” Lena [Waithe] called me in to do something on her show Twenties.
