While attending high school, she was a member of the volleyball team. In fact, she was the captain of the team.

She adopted Sarah as her first name while she was in second grade. It was inspired by a song by Irish rock band Skinny Lizzy . She was regularly molested by other children because of her unusual and difficult to pronounce name.

When she turned 8, her parents entered her into beauty pageants.

While attending Southern Methodist University, she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega , a women’s fraternity.
